Among all the massage technique, the
Swedish massage is the newest and the fascinating one. The strokes can be light
as well as intense depending on the treatment chose by the patients. During
these techniques, a deeper pressure is applied over the body areas that increases
the intake of oxygen by the body cells. It improves the skin elasticity and rejuvenates
the cells to make you look healthier and younger.
More about the strokes and its benefits: The Swedish massage course is taught under
the Whole Body Massage Course, which
allows the students to master the technique of different art. There are five different
strokes that are taught to the students, which includes effleurage, petrissage,
tapotement, friction, and vibration/shaking.
In effleurage, sliding and gliding technique
are used that is done using palms and fingertips. It focuses more on the knots
and tensions of the muscles and helps them to get released. The petrissage involves
kneading the muscles so that the pressure goes into the deeper areas of the tissues.
The massage classes also teach about tapotement that is done using the fists of the hand.
This inbuilt energy into the tissues and cells and help the muscles to relax. The
friction involves rubbing the hands and applying the heat over the strained areas
that further goes into the deeper muscles, giving a total relaxation.
Last but not the least, the vibration and
shaking of the muscles help it to loosen up, improving the mobility of the muscles
and functionality of the body parts.
